WHAT WE DO: We are a teaching studio in Denville, New Jersey. The studio offers instruction in piano, voice (both technical and interpretive instruction), music theory, and conducting, as well as the Alexander Technique. Our lessons include an integrated musicianship program designed to teach students about music history and theory, giving them a better knowledge and appreciation of the music that they are studying.

WHO WE ARE: We are Scott and Valerie Van Hoven. Scott has been teaching for over fifteen years, has two Master's degrees in Music, and is on the faculty of Montclair State University. He begins work on his Ph.D. this fall at City University of New York. Scott also maintains an active career as a composer, theorist and conductor. Valerie has over twenty years of teaching experience, and is active as a performer as well. She is also certified to teach music in the New Jersey public school system. Valerie is also a Certified Teacher of the Alexander Technique, which is a method of training people to use their bodies in ways not harmful to them.
